Existing notes initialised raw markdown mode from note.checklistMode
instead of the defaultNoteMode preference, so users with Markdown as
default always got the rich text editor when reopening a note.

The image switched to the node user (uid 1000) at build time, so a host
folder mounted at /data kept its host ownership and SQLite failed with
SQLITE_CANTOPEN in a restart loop. Named and anonymous volumes worked only
because Docker copies the image's /data ownership into them.
The container now starts as root, hands DATA_DIR and the database folder
to node (only entries not already owned by it), and execs the app via
setpriv as node. Containers started with an explicit `user:` skip this.
Adds a CI step that runs the image with a host-owned bind mount.

CI on main (run 310, commit 58e5b5d) failed one public-sharing scenario
with "apiRequestContext.post: socket hang up" on its first request, with
no server-side error. The same tree had passed E2E on the PR run minutes
earlier, and the failing call is the first request of the test.
That is the keep-alive race: Playwright's request context reuses idle
sockets to `vite preview`, whose Node http server closes an idle socket
after 5s. A request that lands on a socket the server is closing at that
instant dies client-side. Raising the preview server's keepAliveTimeout
to 65s (headersTimeout 66s, which Node requires to be larger) makes the
client always the side that closes, so the race cannot occur. A tiny Vite
plugin does this only for `vite preview`; production runs `node build`
and is unaffected.

Closes#90.
Code blocks and inline code inherited the typography plugin's defaults,
which shrank them to ~86% of an already-monospace body and painted them
--bg-surface — the same colour as the default note card — so a snippet
was only recognisable by being smaller. Long lines also grew a horizontal
scrollbar inside card previews.
- New --code-bg surface (one step below the page in light mode, page-level
ink in dark) with a subtle border, and code keeps the surrounding text
size. Decorative backtick pseudo-elements dropped now that the chip
carries the signal.
- Card previews clip wide code instead of scrolling; editor and share page
keep horizontal scroll.
- Syntax highlighting via one shared lowlight instance feeding both the
TipTap editor (extension-code-block-lowlight) and the markdown-it
renderer, so a fence looks identical in the editor, on cards and on the
share page. Only highlight.js "common" grammars are bundled.
- No auto-detection: highlight.js misreads note-sized snippets too often
(JavaScript as CSS, SQL as VB.NET). Unlabelled fences stay plain; the
language comes from the fence info string or a toolbar picker shown
while the cursor is in a code block.
- Six --hl-* token colours per theme; a unit test parses app.css and
asserts AA contrast against --code-bg and mutual distinguishability.
- Sanitizer now allows only language-* / hljs-* classes on code and span.

The mobile editor is fullscreen with no backdrop to tap, so the Android
back button / iOS back swipe now dismisses it instead of leaving the
page. The editor pushes a shallow-routing history entry on mount and
closes when it is popped; UI closes pop the entry themselves so history
stays clean. NotesView's hash rewriting now goes through SvelteKit's
replaceState so the router keeps handling popstate.

A push to a claude/** branch with an open PR triggered both the push
and pull_request events. The concurrency group keys on github.ref,
which differs between the two (refs/heads/... vs refs/pull/N/merge),
so neither run was cancelled and the whole pipeline (including E2E)
ran twice. Drop claude/** from the push trigger; branch work is now
validated once via the pull_request event.
Adds a packageManager field (pnpm@9.15.9) to package.json so corepack
and pnpm/action-setup@v4 resolve a single pinned pnpm 9 version that
matches lockfileVersion 9.0. Removes the floating 'version: latest' from
the CI and screenshots workflows so they honor the packageManager field
instead of pulling pnpm 10+, which breaks native module builds.
Follow-up to #63.
The "notes, tags, and attachments" scenario previously only created a
note and an API key — no attachment. Upload a PNG via the browser
context so Origin is set correctly for SvelteKit's CSRF check, giving
the atomic-delete path genuine attachment rows to clean up.
https://claude.ai/code/session_015T2HE6VzB64ZmSSyy1Wz4R
deleteUser() ran each child-table cleanup as a separate statement, so a
foreign-key violation on any step (e.g. sync_log rows from other users
referencing the deleted user's notes) would abort mid-way and leave the
database in a partial state. The API swallowed the error and the admin
page silently ignored the non-ok response, so clicking Delete and
confirming appeared to do nothing.
- Wrap the full cascade in a single sqlite transaction so the deletion
is atomic.
- Also remove rows in sync_log, note_user_state, note_collaborators,
note_versions, and attachments that belong to other users but
reference the deleted user's notes, so the final DELETE FROM notes
cannot trip a foreign-key check.
- Surface delete failures in the users settings UI instead of silently
swallowing them.
- Add data-testids on the user row and delete button to support tests.
- Add e2e coverage for the admin user deletion flow (happy path,
cancelled confirmation, and a user with notes / tags / attachments /
preferences / api keys).

Use e.currentTarget instead of e.target so the reference is always the
contenteditable div, not a descendant <a> tag. Use el.contains() instead
of strict equality to avoid linkifying while focus is still inside the
editable element.
https://claude.ai/code/session_01VZceWPhHMHCA6SELBdCPfN
When a contenteditable loses focus, the onblur handler immediately modified
innerHTML to linkify URLs. On mobile, this DOM mutation causes a layout reflow
between touchstart and click, making the browser cancel taps on the adjacent
delete button. Deferring via requestAnimationFrame ensures the click event
fires before the DOM is modified.
https://claude.ai/code/session_01VZceWPhHMHCA6SELBdCPfN
mergeNotesByVersion only iterated incoming notes, dropping any
local-only notes (e.g. just created but not yet in the server/IDB
response). This caused note cards to disappear briefly after creation
when loadNotes raced with createNote.
Also rename E2E test note title to avoid name collision with existing
"Groceries" test.
https://claude.ai/code/session_01TdPpATUkmdY7DhBkmqrvWs
Two issues caused checked items to revert after closing:
1. loadNotes() blindly overwrote the store with notes.set(), so a stale
response from the periodic sync (every 30s) could replace a just-saved
note with older server data. Now merges by version number, keeping the
higher-versioned note.
2. Checklist component ignored external content prop changes (from sync or
history restore). Added $effect that re-parses items when the content
prop changes from an external source, using lastEmitted tracking to
distinguish self-originated vs external updates.
https://claude.ai/code/session_01TdPpATUkmdY7DhBkmqrvWs
Users pulling the image without authentication get "unauthorized" because
ghcr.io packages default to private under an organization. Add a step in
both release workflows to explicitly set the container package to public.
https://claude.ai/code/session_01QovQeW26KfEEmU1KdFfCPU
Concurrent edits to shared notes (e.g., one user checks a shopping list
item while another adds an item) were lost because the sync system used
whole-document Last-Write-Wins. This replaces it with a 3-way line-level
content merge using node-diff3, so changes to different lines are
preserved from both users.
Key changes:
- Add node-diff3 for 3-way line-level content merging
- Remove the timestamp gate in processSyncPush that rejected entire
offline sync pushes when another user had updated the note
- Add content merge to both the sync push path and the PATCH endpoint,
using version snapshots as the merge base
- Send baseVersion from the client so the server can find the correct
common ancestor for 3-way merge
- Protect pending local fields during client pull merge by reading
the sync queue and preserving queued-but-unpushed changes
- Add comprehensive tests for content merge, server sync, and CRDT merge

The editor card's onpointerdown stopPropagation prevented the
FormattingToolbar's document-level pointerdown listener from
detecting clicks outside the dropdown. Since both overlay handlers
already use e.target === e.currentTarget to ignore bubbled events,
no stopPropagation is needed on the card.
https://claude.ai/code/session_018DYwSysqysMmaRi5XkqTpo
Pointer events are never synthetically re-dispatched from touch
(unlike mouse events), so the tap that opened the editor cannot
ghost-click the overlay. This eliminates the mobile first-load bug
without relying on an arbitrary delay.
Both pointerdown and pointerup must target the overlay itself to
trigger close, which also handles the text-selection-outside-editor
edge case.
https://claude.ai/code/session_018DYwSysqysMmaRi5XkqTpo
On first page load on mobile, the synthetic mousedown from a tap can
arrive ~300ms after the touch event — well after a single
requestAnimationFrame (~16ms). Replace the rAF-based overlayReady
guard with a 400ms timestamp check from mount time to reliably
ignore stale synthetic events on slow first loads.

Send an email to collaborators when they are added to a shared note.
Uses nodemailer with optional SMTP configuration (auto-enabled when
SMTP_HOST is set). Users can opt out via the notifyOnShare preference.

Add more vertical padding (py-1 → py-1.5) to checklist items for better
readability. Add min-w-0 to the text input so long text is constrained
within the flex container instead of overflowing out of the note.
https://claude.ai/code/session_0163L1u9MfL1C6Rv3yAw8RKs
- Replace `truncate` with `break-words min-w-0` so long checklist text
wraps visibly instead of being clipped
- Increase vertical spacing between items (space-y-1 → space-y-2)
- Add bottom margin (mb-6) to prevent action buttons overlapping content
- Align checkboxes to top of multi-line items (items-start + mt-0.5)
https://claude.ai/code/session_01UVNA5wucVEjRQzwRxMhTZ9
On mobile, tapping a NoteCard to open the editor produces synthetic mouse
events (mousedown → mouseup → click) at the original touch coordinates.
If those coordinates land on the overlay backdrop rather than the editor
card, the mousedown sets mousedownOnOverlay = true and the click
immediately closes the editor — causing a brief flicker.
Guard against this by deferring overlay readiness to the next animation
frame after mount, so any synthetic events from the originating tap are
ignored.

On touch devices, hover states don't work, so the pin/archive/delete
buttons were invisible. Now they're always visible on screens below the
md breakpoint and only hover-toggled on desktop.
